It was here at the courthouse in Benghazi where the first spark of the Libyan revolution ignited. It’s the symbolic seat of the revolution; post-Gaddafi Libya’s equivalent of Egypt’s Tahrir Square. And it was here, in the tumultuous months of civil war, that the ragtag rebel forces established their provisional government and primitive, yet effective, media center from which to tell foreign journalists about their “fight for freedom.”
But according to multiple eyewitnesses—myself included—one can now see both the Libyan rebel flag and the flag of al Qaeda fluttering atop Benghazi’s courthouse.

Matthew VanDyke, "Journalist, Missing In Libya", Bringing the pleasures of the American way of life

THE  FAIRY TALE OF THE LOST PRINCE
Western poets of Darkness aka journalists will continue to write tales of the wind in  hair of brutal armed gangs- but ...We are going back to reality where children are dying [libyasos]
 06/ 4/11 10:48 AM ET   AP

" BALTIMORE -- As the uprisings of the "Arab Spring" began to unfold, writer Matthew VanDyke was at home in Baltimore, editing a book and film about his trips across the Middle East by motorcycle. An email from a friend in Libya convinced VanDyke dispatches from that country's war would make a perfect epilogue.[ Prince]
Now VanDyke has been missing nearly three months. His mother, Sharon, said the 31-year-old decided he had to be there when the friend asked VanDyke to tell others of the country's struggle if he was killed during the conflict. [Mother]
He's one of 17 journalists – mostly Libyans – detained by dictator Moammar Gadhafi's government or believed to be in custody in Libya. At least five others have been killed as rebel forces try to topple Gadhafi's decades-old regime, said Mohamed Abdel Dayem with the New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists. [ The wicked witch]
The last time Sharon VanDyke heard her son's voice, it was March 12 as he set off for a daytrip to Brega from Benghazi. He sent GPS coordinates the next day.[ I usualy sent GPS coordinate to my mother ]
His girlfriend, Lauren Fischer, 28, said she wasn't immediately alarmed because VanDyke hadn't sent an SOS signal as he promised he would if he met serious trouble. [Princess]
"I wasn't panicked," Fischer said. "He knows how to handle himself."

[A heart-stirring story]
VanDyke dialed her son's number 30 to 40 times a day for the next week, getting the same Arabic recording. Then at 4 a.m. March 22, she got a call from a man with an Arabic accent who hung up. Later that day, she got through to her son's cell, but a stranger who answered said in English he was in Tripoli and she had the wrong number. [ of course in Tripoli ! Tripoli si town of The wicked witch]  and Sharon asked for her son and his friend from Benghazi, Nouri Fonas.
"He said, `I hope you find your son,' then the line went dead," she said.[ good girl from Benghazi -NO DOUBT ]
Phone companies confirmed that both calls involved her son's cell.[God of spy ] Fonas told her someone spotted her son in a prison in Sirte. That gave her hope, but the secondhand information gives officials little to go on.
Top of Form
Bottom of Form
VanDyke is one of at least six Americans being held in Libya, and State Department officials are working to secure their release, said agency spokesman Mark Toner.[The Fairy Godmother]
"You know, they've done nothing. They should be released. And they're simply caught up in this conflict," the Fairy Godmother  said.
U.S. Rep. C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger, a Maryland Democrat and ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee [three pig] , held a news conference May 23 to call attention to VanDyke's disappearance.
Two days later , Deputy Libyan Foreign Minister Khaled Kaim [evil dwarf] said he had no information about VanDyke.
Libyan officials generally have not identified Libyan journalists in custody, and have only after days or weeks identified foreigners, Dayem said.

Libya's war is just one part of what has become known as the "Arab Spring." Longtime Tunisian dictator Zine El Abidine Ben Ali was ousted in January, and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak resigned the next month amid a popular uprising. Uprisings also have occurred in Syria and Bahrain. [explanation of stage managers]
VanDyke was raised in the same two-story, formstone townhouse across from a South Baltimore park that four earlier generations of his family have called home. After studying political science at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, he earned a master's degree in security studies with a concentration in the Middle East in 2004 from Georgetown University in Washington.
[ middle of heart breaking story]
UMBC professor Thomas Schaller called VanDyke one of his smartest students and said he's sure that, wherever VanDyke is, he's frustrated that he's not getting anything done.
"He has thirst for life and to do things that people told him he can't do or shouldn't do," Schaller said. "I just know he's going to come out on the other end with quite a yarn."
VanDyke met Fischer in 2006 in a hostel in Spain. He was waiting for his motorcycle to arrive so he could ride across north Africa and the Middle East, but he ended up staying in Spain eight months teaching English and fixing the bike, she said. He headed to Iraq in late 2006 with another motorcycle.
"He wanted to write a book and see the world he had studied about," Fischer said. "He wanted to do something more independent."
VanDyke approached The Baltimore Examiner newspaper, which is no longer publishing, in hopes of getting credentials to be embedded with the U.S. military. Editor Frank Keegan saw an opportunity to better inform readers about an important part of the world and get stories about local soldiers overseas. The paper published two of his stories. [Detailed description of Prince]
"He's a level-headed guy with a lot of talent," he said. "He was not just some adventure-seeking kid who didn't know what he was getting into."
VanDyke traveled through Morocco, Mauritania, Tunisia, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Kurdistan, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Libya with periodic visits home. He lived frugally, got sponsorship through his blog and made some money by brokering a tire sealant deal in Kurdistan, his mother said.
[The heart of Western taxpayers is broken - they start to hate ugly - dirty- brutal The wicked witch ]

While in Baghdad in 2009, VanDyke met photographer Daniel C. Britt, and they decided to make an East-meets-West travelogue film. Last year, they set off on a seven-month motorcycle trip through Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan, chronicling the people and places they found along the way.
Seeing VanDyke's resolve while they were detained for days north of Baghdad, accused of being al-Qaida and beaten[ yeah taxpayers now hate and Qaeeda -king - and they  like his death], showed Britt that he had the ability to deal with problems.
"I have faith in his ability to remain calm, and that's helping me remain positive," Britt said. "Other than that, it's a pretty dark scenario."
For now, Sharon VanDyke, a retired elementary school principal [ important for what? and who?ah.. yes for housewifes ], keeps a bag packed in case she hears any word about her son. She is considering a trip to Libya after bringing photos of her son to the Libyan embassy in Turkey last month.
Just as she gathered her son's clips during his previous travels[ a little pathetics], she has been pulling together news stories about Libya and other materials into binders that are taking over the dining room table.
"When he comes home, he's going to read all of these while Lauren and I go on vacation," she said.

The CNT issued a business card to American mercenary Matthew Vandyke November

Matthew VanDyke, falsely presented by media as a documentary filmmaker imprisoned for six months in Libya. Since the invasion of Tripoli, he was released and fought with the rebels. It is a mercenary in Libya who came to kill Libyans.

Since the conflict began, Aljazeera could not stop to inform us that Gaddafi hired African mercenaries and Ukraniens. The reality is in this picture. These traitors CNT recruited mercenaries all over the world to kill Libyans.

IMPORTANT CAMPAIGN CONCERNING LIBYA! Save Dr Abuzaid Omar Dorda

Update 02.09.2012

Dorda - Libya's Ex PM update - Ongoing Hell
Universally known as an honourable man, now injured while in custody. And facing numerous appearances in kangaroo like courts.
From Wikipedia: Abuzed Omar Dorda (Arabic: أبو زيد عمر دوردة‎) (born 4 April 1944) was General Secretary of the People's Committee (Prime Minister) of Libya from 7 October 1990 to 29 January 1994, and as Libya's Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 1997 to 2003.

Update 28.08.2012

The trial of Libya's external intelligence chief and former Libya's UN envoy Bouzid Dorda was adjourned for a fourth time Tuesday as defence lawyers challenged the legality of proceedings in the first case against a top Libyan official.

"We have appealed to the Constitutional Court over the illegality of the procedure by which our client was brought before the court," said defence counsel Ali Mohammed al-Dhabaa.

He also demanded an investigation into the treatment of his client between his arrest on 11 November and his interview with the public prosecutor on 9 April. He pointed out that his client had been in good health at the time of his detention, but was now almost disabled, raising suspicions of torture.

Oun described the case as unconstitutional, on which grounds he asked for the case to be dropped. He then asked if the court might be adjourned yet again, to give the defence time to prepare a list of witnesses.

"The prosecuting counsel" asked for these requests to be ignored as he said they were simply attempts to waste time and prolong the trial.

"The prosecutor" also presented cases against other defendants who are set to testify against the accused.

A new hearing was set for September 11. It was the fourth adjournment since the trial opened on June 5.

Update 26.06.2012.

The second session of the Court of captive hero Bouzid Omar Dorda under bad security conditions, and murder and liquidation of the men of law and the Libyan judiciary controlled by armed militias.
What justice and integrity are we talking about? And under such circumstances how can a lawyer of Mr. Dorda, and his fellow Arab and foreign lawyers feel safe for their lives and themselves from the bullets of evil?
How can witnesses come forward to testify and risk their lives, in the absence of law and corruption of the justice sector as stated by the Mr. Hassan Zqlam the Minister of Finance, as happened to a media Solomon Dogh of kidnapping and arrested name of the law, which was outside the framework of the law as it came on his tongue, and what happened from the killing of Mr. Kady collected Gazoy, and a lot of what is happening in Libya today ..

Update 15.02.2012.

Libya: Ex-Premier Needs Lawyer, Medical Care - (Tripoli) – Abuzaid Dorda, the detained former Libyan prime minister and head of foreign intelligence under Muammar Gaddafi, needs immediate access to a lawyer and specialized medical care for injuries sustained in custody, Human Rights Watch said today. The Libyan government should bring Dorda, in custody for five months, before a judge and charge him with a recognizable offense or release him, Human Rights Watch said.
The Libyan government should investigate the causes of Dorda’s fall, and hold accountable anyone responsible for wrongdoing, Human Rights Watch said. ->

Update 25.01.2012.
DR ABUZAID DORDA HAS BEEN KIDNAPPED by the militia that was guarding him in the hospital. he has been kidnapped even though his health is still in a critical condition. If he is away from the hospital for too long his life will be in grave danger. We do not know where he is only that those who were torturing him are amongst his kidnappers.
PLEASE CONTACT Red Cross, Red Crescent, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International etc and get their teams on the ground to talk to whatever authorities in Tripoli can help."

Lizzie Phelan interviews son of captive Dr. Abuzaid Omar Dorda

Independent journalist Lizzie Phelan who has been covering the Libyan crisis since it began speaks to Hamid Dorda, the son of Dr Dr. Abuzaid Omar Dorda.

Once Libyan Prime Minister, Permanent Representative to the UN and head of intelligence, Dr Dr. Abuzaid Omar Dorda's life is now in grave danger. In contravention of international law and with human rights organisations and the UN itself turning a blind eye, Dr Dorda has suffered torture, inhumane and severe mistreatment and numerous attempts on his life since NTC forces detained him on September 11. His health is deteriorating and he remains untreated since October 25 for internal bleeding and broken bones. His family are being refused the right to visit him.

Dr Dorda enjoyed a large base of popular support, being seen as one of the least incorruptible figures in libyan politics and society. If he is assassinated or left to die from his injuries, it will be a considerable blow for the already bleak prospects of a stable and just political future in Libya.
...
An NGO sent me the following appeal.
Below is the name of the woman that must be harassed if anything is to be done to help Dorda and hopefully find Zidan.

update 04.11.2011.
URGENT MESSAGE We receive question. But we don't have' any information!!!! Yet!!!
@Libya_SOS Abuseid Dorda suffer because honest and not corrupt. How long will he be alive?...
A short while ago you wrote something about Abuzeid Dorda. He has a very good reputation, he is neither bribable nor corrupt. G closed the ESDF and EDB funds suspecting corruption (Jibril embezzled/stole 2 billions of these funds). G did not arrest them but ordered an investigation. It was soon clear that Jibril had embezzled the money. ESDF Fund was intended for the reconstruction of Libya and there were several JVs with foreign companies. G wanted the work to go on and gave Abuzeid Dorda (at this time he was with HIB) the responsibility for both funds because he was neither corrupt nor bribable. I remember that many foreign companies wanted to bribe him to get some projects directly from him. But they had not a chance, they all had to do it via Aicom ( US consulting company that was also under his responsibility).

According to information received today by phone from Tripolis, the rebels wanted an official statement from him saying that he had changed sides and supported the rebels. Initially he gave a statement that he supported G, that he had not broken the law or ignored it. The rebels had nothing on him as he had not participated in military operations. He is still alive but in agonising pain as they broke every bone in his body, not only his arms and legs.
---
@Libya_SOS @SomaliaSupport2 Do you have more information about Camilliah? Whe was G?s first bodyguard. According to my information the rebels abducted her when she was in Triopolis. The rebels came, abused and raped her and she has not been seen since

Lizzie Phelan, an independent journalist from Britain, who was reporting from Libya during the NATO bombing and the fall of Tripoli, informed the public about Dr. Abuzaid Omar Dorda,
the senior Libyan official, a former UN ambassador who is currently being held and tortured by NTC members, his life being in grave danger. Thus, we are urging international community, humanitarian organizations, UN and CoE to promptly demand the release and guaranties for the life of this respected man, whose human rights are grossly violated, by the 'new democratic' Libyan regime.

Dr. Abuzaid Omar Dorda

Lizzie Phelan said:  "The Libyan media have tried to say that Dr Abuzaid Dorda, one of the most well respected members of Libyan politics in recent history, tried to commit suicide. Everybody knows how defiant and strong Dr Dorda is and that this is far from the truth. The reality is he was thrown out of a window and one of his doctors told his family that both of his legs were broken and he has been badly beaten and tortured for the past month. The last person to see him was a woman from Human Rights Watch called Susan a couple of weeks ago who said he was fine! (She has since left the country).  The family has had no contact him since he was detained and they have no way of reaching him at a time when it is clear that now Abdelhakim Belhaj's Tripoli brigade are trying to kill him. A figure like Dr Dorda is important for any future prospects of peace in Libya and the chances of a backlash are heightened if he is martyred. I have received a reliable report that the "rebels" tried to assassinate respected brother Dr Abuzaid Dorda, a senior member of the Libyan government who is held in high esteem by the Libyan people. Dr Dorda will not submit to the torture that they have tried to inflict (both of his legs have been broken and worse) and give over the information they desperately want from him. He used to be an ambassador to the United Nations himself, but now we can expect the United Nations and all other instiutions of "international law" look on while a senior figure of a sovereign state is threatened with assassination by their stooges?"

Read an article on "Turtle Bay" about the dire circumstances of Dr. Abuzaid Dorda's detention that led his son in law Adel Khalifa Dorda write an appeal to U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and the U.N. Security Council President in which he says among other things:
"Mr.  Dorda survived a murder attempt last night, 25October, 2011, at the hands of his guards in the building where he was arrested. He was thrown off the second floor leading to several broken bones and other serious injuries. Authorities were forced to move Dorda to Maitiga hospital in Tripoli where as of now he is being held under extremely poor conditions. Dorda is not receiving the proper treatment duly and legally accorded a political prisoner, let alone that required under the terms of human rights and other international treaties." [1]

HERE ARE SOME THINGS WE CAN ALL DO TO HELP DR. ABUZAID DORBA, IT TAKES JUST A COUPLE OF MINUTES OF YOUR TIME, BUT IT COULD MAKE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH FOR HIM:

NO PASARAN! LET'S GET BACK TO WORK. THANK YOU.

NO PASARAN!

First, I want to thank all of the TRUE Libyan, pro-Jamahiriya, Green blogs for their reporting of information from inside Libya during this war. The work has been great.

Second, I request that all TRUE Libyan, pro-Jamahiriya, Green blogs cease, or at least drastically cut down, further discussion about whether or not Muammar Gaddafi is x or y. This is merely a request. I have no power over anyone.

Today, when I went to try to get some idea of what was going on, all that was talked about was whether or not The Leader was x or y. It's about the liberation of Libya; the liberation of Africa, and the liberation of the world.

Another thing: The CIA certainly welcomes all of this focus on ONE MAN—Gaddafi. This is great news for the CIA. The CIA wants the entire world to believe that now that Gaddafi is "y," The Al-Fateh Revolution of the Libyan Jamahiriya has ended; that the struggle to liberate Libya from the rats has ended. By continuing these discussions about whether or not Gaddafi is y or x, you are weakening our movement, and feeding right into the schemes of the CIA.

I am fully aware that the Jamahiriya has asked that the blogs cease speaking about specific military plans or troop positions. But I further understand that the Jamahiriya deems as okay the reporting of battles that have already occurred. So, please get back into focus, and submit reports, at your blogs, on those battles that have already occurred.

This note is written with full appreciation of the great work that the various blogs are doing. But, it is time to get back to work.  If you wish to mourn, mourn later, after Libya is won back for the Jamahiriya--and for Muammar! Let's get back to work. Thank you.

MOAMMAR AL GADDAFI: THIS IS MY WILL ...CONTINUE THE RESISTANCE, FIGHT ANY FOREIGN AGGRESSOR AGAINST LIBYA...

This is my will. I, Muammar bin Mohammad bin Abdussalam bi Humayd bin Abu Manyar bin Humayd bin Nayil al Fuhsi Gaddafi, do swear that there is no other God but Allah and that Mohammad is God's Prophet, peace be upon him. I pledge that I will die as Sunni Muslim.

When I die, I would like to be buried according to Muslim rituals, in the clothes I was wearing at the time of my death and my body unwashed, in the cemetery of Sirte, next to my family and patriots.

I would like that my family, especially women and children, be treated well after my death. The Libyan people should protect Libyan identity, achievements, history and the honourable image of its ancestors and heroes. The Libyans should not relinquish the sacrifices of the free and honorable people.

I call on Libyans to continue the resistance, and fight any foreign aggression against Libya, today, tomorrow and always.

Let the free people of the world know that we could have bargained over and sold out ourselves in return for a temporary personal security, but we chose to defend ourselves and confront the enemy in the name of duty and honour.

Even if we do not win immediately, we will give a lesson to future generations that choosing to protect the nation is an honour and selling it out is the greatest betrayal that history will remember forever despite the attempts of traitors to tell you otherwise, traitors will never manage to forge history, no matter how hard they tried.

Peace be upon all the just and honorable Libyans and friends of Libyan Jamahyria, who supported us even in their hearts.
