- The body of Libya's former Oil Minister Shukri Ghanem has been found in the Danube River, Austrian police say.
Shukri Mohammed Ghanem
A spokesman said there were no signs of violence to Mr Ghanem's body, which was in the river that flows through Vienna.
The former prime minister, 69, worked as a consultant for a Vienna-based company. He apparently left his home early on Sunday, police said.

Police spokesman Roman Hahslinger said the 69-year-old's corpse was found floating in the river early in the morning. The body showed no external signs of violence, but the cause of death was not immediately clear and an autopsy will be carried out, Hahslinger said.
"There would be no signs of violence if someone pushed him in," Hahslinger said. "But it's also possible that he became ill and fell into the water."[Yeah right...]
Archpriest Zakaria Kerstyuk meeting with Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian prisoners
by Николай Сологубовский (April 15)- Easter service in Libya has been performed by the Department of External Church Relations of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church by Archpriest Zakaria Kerstyuk. In April, he was able to meet with Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian prisoners.
TRIPOLI: We have so much documentation that it make your head spin. We spoke with 250 rebels who were released by the Tribal Leaders with the blessings of Ghadafi, the stories they tell of the atrocities that they did are horrifying we have them on tape. We also have many rebels that are documented admitting all the atrocities that they themselves committed. But, here is one truth that is irrefutable – the 2000 tribes of Libya are the actual government here, if anyone does not know this then they do not know Libya.
These tribal leaders released 150 rebel prisoners 3 weeks ago, 10 days later another 250 were released. There were about 20 foreigners that witnessed this magnificent show of forgiveness, we have this on tape. There is another release of 200 prisoners in these coming days.
Go to Benghazi and you will not find one single prisoner because they have all been killed. This is a hard fact. Anyone that says they interviewed prisoners in Misurata is a liar. The Misurata prisoners that were released said that they were paid 2500 dinar for every soldier they killed and another 1000 dinar for burning the bodies. This is why there are no prisoners, so who is believable 250 prisoners on tape or someone who will not even give his name and makes statements that are unbelievable and unverifiable.
Here in Tripoli, the people say, please tell them to come to Tripoli and speak to us but they will not come because they don’t want the truth. They would like to ask these liars to PROVE what they say, they say none of their lies can be proved. Yesterday was Ghadafi’s birthday, they bombed the H*** out of this place yesterday, many many people crying and big damage, but they are not breaking the back of these people. They had parties and shot off fireworks for 3 hours, we were invited to a wedding because they wanted to show us how life continues here and they celebrate life every day.
NATO is not bombing the rebels in the East. NATO is working for the rebels. People don’t dare complain about the rebels. They are scared for their lives and their family lives. We have met many people who have escaped these place with their lives, but most don’t want their names out because they have family left there and if they show their face or publicly speak about the rebel atrocities then the members of their families that are left will be killed. We know this from first hand, one of our group had this exact problem and could not be filmed, his father called him and said the rebels saw him on TV and if he spoke out one more time against them they would kill his brother one by one and then begin with his other family members.
Today we went to the Roxis hotel. There was a large group of women and children holding signs up that said “tell the TRUTH”, “thank you Qatar for killing our people”,“thank you NATO for destroying our country”.
WE love the leader of our revolution, M. Ghadafi. I stopped and took photos and the women came up to me instantly, they thought I was a reporter as all the reporters stay in the Roxis Hotel. They were quite angry and said, TELL THE TRUTH, we want to see the TRUTH outside of Libya we are sick of the lies. One lady had a very small boy with her (maybe 3 years old) he was dressed in a military outfit, he was black, she said you see my son, even our children will fight against this terror, we will never accept NATO or the rebel RATs. [Note: the Libyan people call the rebels "rats."]
This is literally everywhere in Tripoli, tonight thousands were on First of September street in support of their revolutionary leader.
In all the time (5.5 years) we have come here we have never heard of oppression by Ghadafi, the people have great respect and love for him. They all wear green and wear photos of him around their necks, believe me the Western news is so far from the truth they are on another planet. We have never seen anybody beaten, harassed, in prison, in fact we have been days and never even seen a policeman unlike our trips to Cairo where armed guards are on every corner, with tanks around Mosques on Fridays. Believe us, before this mess, it was safer in Tripoli than in Houston.
This is not the Libyan way, they don’t pass out Viagra, this is from the Western mind – I may explode before long, cannot suffer fools lightly and these people have mouths that are not connected to souls.
The final two verifiable truths about the atrocities committed by NATO and the Rebels and the US and UK are:
1. The leader of a tribe of 1 million Libyans living in Benghazi was brutally murdered in his home by the rebels after a kangaroo court which was broadcast in the news on TV here in Libya by Dr. Shakeer. The million people tribe wanted to retaliate against all the rebels, the other tribal leaders and Ghadafi told them please do not kill all these people as there has already been too much bloodshed in Libya. Does this sound like a tyrant?
2. Two days later another pro Ghadafi person was murdered, his head was cut off
and placed at the door step of the security office in Dharna (he was a tribal leader) the outrage by most of the population in Dharna was expressed in demonstrations of disgust against the rebels and at the end of the day, the green flag of the legitimate government of Libya was flying. The three major tribes in Dharna proclaimed that they had had enough of the death at the hands of these rats and the Council of Shame as they call the revolution council in Benghazi.
All of these facts are true and verifiable by video and by affidavit of those present, this liar cannot prove one thing that he is saying.
The word of some paid CIA mercenary is not worth ****.
Susan believe us when we say, we have huge amounts of documentation, we are collecting it every day. We must file war crime charges against Obama, Sarkozy, Cameron, and NATO.
Question the Libyans constantly ask is: “Who are these countries to dictate who our leader should or should not be, we will pick our own leader, we ask for a vote, let us vote and then you will see who should be our leader.”NATO will never dictate to us, if they impose their puppet leader upon us, we will have another revolution and throw him out, he will not last one week.
The biggest population is Libya as you know, is in the west, the more NATO rains down destruction upon them the more they back Ghadafi. These are a strong and resilient people, they have an ancient culture and they are an endangered species. Misinformation is the tool of the West not Libya. We have nothing to gain by helping these people (except our souls). One cannot stand by and witness this type of tyranny without doing everything possible to stop it.
God Bless them, I pray they will survive this siege that is upon them.
This is an email from Tripoli resident, Joanne Moriarty, sent to Susan Lindauer earlier today, June 8, 2011, which Susan provided to COTO Report and which we are leaving unedited.
Tripoli- The green national flag of Libya is fluttering in the hot desert wind. The border crossing Ras Jedir, between Tunisia and Libya, unbearable heat and a big crowd. There is about 113 degrees in shade, columns of cars and trucks, all pushing horns and trying to bypass the queue.
Unlike two months ago, all the customs officers and policemen are wearing new uniforms, they are doing their job very professionally. I enter Libya by foot, waiting to be "sniffed" by the member of the secret police. Because, he is in charge and he is the one doing everything necessary for the journalists coming to Libya.
So, just as I have passed the guard's post, one unknown man in civilian clothes waved at me. He approaches me, and the only thing that makes me suspect he is from the secret police, is a little walkie-talkie he is discreetly holding in his hand. Without saying a word, he takes my passport and goes somewhere. What a wonderful feeling it is to remain on the sand, in the hot sun and without a passport in the country who's at war, and your passport was taken away by an unknown man in civilian clothes. Who by the way, didn't show you any official identification. The waiting dragged on for about three full hours, until the mini bus, carrying the journalists who were just leaving Libya, arrived. By the way, on the border crossing Ras Jedir, the number of those leaving and those who are coming back to Libya is almost the same. Noticeable is a large number of families with children going back to Libya. There are a lot of trucks carrying white sacs with flour, the cult of flour, or bread, is characteristic for the Arab world. I was surprised by the trucks carrying bicycles, Libya is now massively importing bicycles, he shortage of the fuel turned Tripoli to a genuine Amsterdam.
The road leading from the border to Tripoli is partially coated with new asphalt, on the side of the road there are a lot of watered flowers. We drive trough Subrata and Zawia , the towns the rebels said were scenes of fierce battles. I can not see any trace of those battles, on the contrary those towns look very orderly and peaceful, with many people out on the streets strolling.
In the mini bus, beside me there are a couple of western journalists, as well as a correspondent of the China's state agency. The western journalists take turns in Libya every ten days, regular shift. They find it a normal duration of one "mandate" in these circumstances of coverage. Even with the Internet, there are still world renowned names of journalism. Tripoli at dusk, appears quite leisurely, just the kilometers of cars in line for the gas. People leave their cars in line for three or four days in order to fill the reservoir with gas. despite the war and shortages, the gas in Libya got cheaper, so that now 100l of gas cost about 5 EUR.
Despite the fact that Libya, prior to this war, was one of the biggest exporters of oil, it is now importing gasoline, because the oil processing capacity is very modest. Only operating oil rafineries are those in Zawia and Brega. Exports of oil has virtually stopped, because almost all oil pumping stations, including the "124", have been destroyed. There can be no oil transport without those oil pumping stations.
At the begining of the war, the rebels have seized ten storage tanks with 8.000.000 barrels of oil, near Benghazi and Twareg, in the following 40 days they were pumping 130.000 barrels of oil a day, which means they have sold more that 13.000.000 barrels. If they sold one barrel for at least 70 dollars, then their profit would have been 160.000.000 dollars. Leaders of the rebels in Benghazi claim they have received only 100.000.000 dollars from the oil sales, so now, many people ask themselves- how did the rest 60.000.000 dollars turn into smoke? So, the lack of unity among the rebels has a very tangible dollar dimension. Some rebel leaders are openly accused of stealing the oil money. By the way, Russian airplane bringing humanitarian help landed the day before yesterday in Benghazi, and yesterday another Russian aiplane with humanitarian help landed, in Tripoli this time. Moscow is playing on two looms. On the military level, the situation is almost the same as it was two months ago.Gaddafi can not regain the lost territory, the rebels, even with the great help from NATO, do not progress as much as they are telling the public. After all, who wants to fight at 113 degrees in shade, and with the Ramadan approaching. Gaddafi has totally adjusted his troops to the conditions of NATO domination of the airspace, their use of drones and satellite reconnaissance. There are no major troop movements, everything is camouflaged, the army can not be seen anywhere.
The night before last, the NATO's airplanes just flew over Tripoli, I haven't heard a single explosion, but jesterday in the morning the doctors from the "Zanzour" rehabilitation center told me that some white coloured reagent was trown from the air, that caused people to experience the burning and sat on cars just like snow, so it had to be cleaned with the windshield wipers.
When I asked them if they gave it for analysis, they said no, because no one ordered them to do so. Nothing is done here, withouth the specific order. There are 1.700 employees in that rehabilitation center, 150 of them are working, the rest of them recieve salaries, and does nothing. On the political level, the government now agrees with many of the terms by the rebels, which the government itself previously proposed. As it is, Gaddafi's son Saif al Islam keeps repeating and proposing referendum, new constitution ( there is no constitution now) and elections under international supervision, the only thing not accepted is for Gaddafi to leave Libya.
The secret negotiations are held at the same time in several European cities, some here here in Tripoli claim that everything is already agreed, and now they are working on technical details. Ramadan is close and no one is looking at a spectacular victory.
Let’s have a closer look what did the propaganda tell the world and what really happened in Libya. Here is a timeline containing some relevant events in relation to the war against Libya, showing that the actions against Libya are based on nothing else than lies.
2002:The U.S. State Department launched the „MEPI“ program that was ostentatiously designed to support „reform efforts“ in the arab world. It supported a wide range of government opponents there for transition to freedom, democracy an human rights the way the U.S. liked to have it. It’s aim was to build up more and more US-led impact on opposition against US-sponsored regimes over the the years, so that when a country was ready, the U.S. could replace a U.S. sponsored dictatorship with a new U.S. sponsored regime. Libya was one of the programs targets.
2003: The U.S. military designated Libya along with other countries as targets for regime change by military means. In the same years the U.S. collected a coalition of the willing and launched a war of aggresion against Iraq which was based on obvious an broad propaganda lies of Iraq possesing weapons of mass destruction. Seeing the destruction and the threat against Libya, Libya abandoned all millitary programs to gain effective weapons of deterrence, paid the U.S. compensation for crimes Libya never commited, allowed western companies to exploit a part of Libya’s oil wealth and collaborated with U.S. attempts to crush islamic resistance against U.S. imperialism worldwide. These openings helped the U.S. to get foot into Libya to manifacture regime change.
2003 – : Though the US-led wars against Afghanistan and Iraq were a desaster for the U.S., the change program for the arab world was pursuid. Leaked U.S. state department records have shown, that the U.S. government secretely supported government opponents in the arab world to help them change their governments with the support of the US-government. In Libya the U.S. used their limited presence to get close contacts to Libyan officials from regions dominated by tribes traditionally opposed to the government in Tripoli like justice minster Mustafa Mohammad Abduljalil, who pledged opposition to talks and preferrend action against the Libyan government.
May 2005:According to Wikipedia the Organizing Committee for the National Conference of the Libyan Opposition (NCLO) held a series of weekly meetings to discuss and develop an agenda for a conference „to put together practical approaches for following up on many efforts made by various Libyan political groups and individuals in their challenge of the Libyan dictatorship“ of Muammar al-Gaddafi. Until recently Wikipedia knew that the NCLO consists of the „Libyan Constitutional Union“, a London based revanchist organisation led by Muhammad as-Senussi, a pretender to the British sponsored Libyan monarchy, the so called „Libyan League for Human Rights“ based in Geneva, the so-called Libyan Tmazight (Berber) Congress residing in a postbox in England, and the NFSL, which is notoriously known for being sponsored by the CIA. The NCLO uses the flag of the Libyan monarchy overthrown by the Fatah revolution led by Muamar Gaddafi as the flag of their organisation as the so called „rebels“ do now.
February 15th, 2008: US Embassy in Tripolireported to Washington, that claims by senior Libyan government officials that the islamic extremistic east of Libya is under control may be overstated. The most zealous imams tend to preach in numerous small suburban and rural mosques, which oftenly don’t physically resemble traditional mosques elsewhere in the country, reflecting in part the pseudo-secret tradition of the Sanussi lodges and are thus hard to be identified and monitored by Libyan security forces. Sermons in eastern mosques, particularly the Friday ‘khutba’, are laced with „coded phrases“ urging worshippers to support jihad in Iraq and elsewhere through direct participation or financial contributions. The language is often ambiguous enough to be plausibly denied, he said, but for devout Muslims it is clear, incendiary and unambiguously supportive of jihad. Direct and indirect references to „martyrdom operations“ were not uncommon.
August 2010: U.S.-preparations for a broad U.S.-led regime change campaign in the arab worlld were in a final stage. US-president Barack Obama issues the „Presidential Study Directive 11″, asking US government agencies to prepare for regime changes in the arab world. U.S.-Israel lobbyist David Ignatiuswrote in March 2011: This document cited „evidence of growing citizen discontent with the region’s regimes“ and warned that „the region is entering a critical period of transition.“
October 20, 2010:Former Gaddafi loyalist Nouri Massoud El-Mesmari, went into exile in Franceand persuaded the French secret services to use his contacts to plan a regime change operation in Libya.
November 2, 2010:France and UK pledged to unify their military and started the military exercise „Southern Mistral„, a wargame, which foresaw French and British warpans bombing a southern mediterranean country in March 2011 after getting a UN security council resolution allowing the attack.
December 17, 2010: After the self-immolation of Mohamed Bouazizi on 17 December in Tunisia protests are held against poverty and the currupt government and in favour of free elections and freedom of speech. To avoid the protests look like being driven by western propaganda, the media work for the protests almost completely over US-based social network sites like Twitter and Facebook. The Tunisian goverment reacted to the protestings with meaningless TV speeches and violence of the security forces to crush all protests. In the forefront for the media work for the Tunisian uprising were social media activists financed and trained by organisations of the US establishment like Freedom House and American Islamic Congress. Scott Carpenter, GW Bush’s point man of his MEPI regime change program, publicly confirmed that the U.S. had done a lot of stuff to prepare the uprising in Tunisia and that did it very quietly, almost covert.
January 2011:Containers full of weapons, ammunition and explosives and around 1000 Thuraya mobile phones were smuggled into Libya through the port of Misrata and distributed with the help of Al-Naseem icecream Factory owned by Raiedha family clan.
January 13, 2011:Rachid Ammar, Chief of Staff of the Tunisian military with good contacts to the U.S. millitary, declared that he sided with the uprising. As his troops proved to be loyal to the chief of stuff in this situation and the military had more men and fire power than the police and the Tunisian presidents security forces, with the defection of Rachid Ammar the US led regime change operation in Tunisia successfully ousted long term Tunisian president Ben Ali a day later. After Ben Ali was ousted the western media machine was put into full swing to instigate uprisings leading to regime change in other MEPI target countries as well.
January 25, 2011:Western mass media and the media network Al Jazeera based in the US client dictatorship Qatar successfully promoted an anonymous female Facebook call for mass protests in Egypt against police violents and government corruption starting on January 25, 2011 (After regime change in Egypt was completed, it was revealed, that the name of the „Facebook girl“ is Esraa Abdel Fattah – an activist who won an award of the notorious US regime change organization Freedom House in June 2010). The following day the Egypt Muslim Brotherhood kicked in and called it’s members and friends to support the uprising against the regime of Hosni Mubarak. Egypt security forces reacted with brutal violence against protesters, killing hundreds of them, and deliberate false flag violence of security forces in plain clothes against the population to justify the violence to crush the protests. Media work for the uprising was led by Al Jazeera. Western government officials up to US president Barack Obama openly and publicly supported the uprising, making no secret that they demanded president Hosni Mubarak to step down. While branches of the military like the Air Force were loyal to president Husni Mubarak military forces loyal to General Sami Hafez Enan, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, who was the week before the Egyptian uprising started in the U.S. for talks with senior officials, prevented the Egypt uprising to be crushed by security forces in it’s central meeting place, the Tahrir Square in Cairo. To prevent a war between different branches of the military, the Egyptian military council staged a coup on February 11, 2011, oustind president Hosni Mubarak and empowering itself.
February 15, 2011: Two days ahead of an announced uprising on Facebook, violent protests in Benghazi were seen in front of the state secuity building in support of the recently arrested lawyer Fethi Tarbel, who represents victims of the 1996 Abu Salim prison uprising mass killings case.
The protests were dispersed by security forces without any loss of life, but leaving some 38 people injured. According to France 24 quoting Benghazi-based, privately-owned Quryna newspaper, which itself quoted Abdelkrim Gubaili, described director of a local hospital, most of the injured were security officials.
France 24 cited in it’s also unnamed „witnesses“, of whom France 24 said, their reports are „hard to confirm“, who alleged, that „security officials were driving their cars into the crowd at high speeds.“ France 24 also embedded than a Youtube video of what it said: „Unconfirmed YouTube footage from Tuesday morning shows protesters gathering outside a Benghazi police station when panic sweeps the crowd and gunshots are heard.“ Though the video was unconfirmed, a gun shot sound track can be easily added to a video, and the allegation of security forces shooting into the crowd contradicted all infomation from named sources, the link to this video was spread widely over social media, often called proof that „Gaddafis security forces“ fired into the crowd. Interestingly, this video allegedely proof for „Gaddafis crimes“ at the beginning of the uprising in Libya, was in the meantime – as Youtube informs – „removed by the user“. This video FAKE was one of the means to incite people to violence in Libya for the planned uprising.
February 17, 2011: Planned start day for the Libyan uprising. As the anonymous Facebook-page calling for a day of rage , violent protests, used the flag of the monarchy as it’s symbol it made it clear from tee beginning, that not bringing Libya to „prosperity“, as it claimed, but a counter revolution violently overthrowing the Libyan government was the goal. The NCLO takes credit for organizing the uprising. Qatari Al Jazeera, Saudi Al Arabia and western media stations reported on this Facebook page, thus informed many million people of the planned uprising.
In various cities of Libya, some hundred to several thousand people have shown up for protests against the government. Others have shown up in government organzied ralleys showing support for the Libyan government. Fake news spread via Al Jazeera by anonymous callers on alleged government atrocities against anti government protesters heated up the mood of crowds as did the fake video of government forces firing into crowds from February 15th.
One of the most powerful false allegations against the government was the murderous false rumour spread by racist defector Ali Abd-al-Aziz al-Isawi, Al Jazeera, Al Arabia, Press TV, anonymous social media accounts and most western mass media that the government used „African merceneries“ to crush the uprising.
When human rights watch later send Peter Bouckaert to speak with black people arested by „rebels“ as mercenaries and investigate the claim, he found no evidence for the „rebels“ allegation, that the government used merceneries at all. Instead he found out, that all 156 captured black people captured by „rebels“ and presented to him as black mercenaries, were in fact regular Libyan soldiers coming from the south of Libya, were most people are black.
Especially in the cities of the jihadist hotbed in the northeast of Libya, Benghazi, Ajdabiya, Al Beida, Derna and Tobruk, – justifying it’s actions with the false black mercenary allegation – lynch mobs were hunting black people, arresting, mistreating and killing blck people in the most ugly ways with knives. As many people in wealthy Libya have mobile phones with cameras the crowds videotaped such crimes an uploaded videos to social media sites as signs of victory.?!?
Here are some videos showing some of the murderous crimes and atrocities against black people committed by western and arabic backed islamist „rebels“ under the cheering of enraged islamic crowds in these days in the northeast of Libya.
Here is one video posted on February, 23rd, showing „rebels“ who captured a black manin a workers dress:
Here is one more video showing what kind of racist crimes against black people the so called eastern Libyan „rebels for freedom an democrcy“ have committed – and it shows the cheering crowd as well.
Here is one more video showing a murderous crime of the racist lynch mob, which western and arab propaganda dubs „peaceful protesters“:
There are many more such videos of such horrific deliberate crimes of the „rebels“ – often racist murders commited against helpless black people which were already handcuffed. Every and each government has not only the right, but also the duty to stop such murderous lynch mobs – and the government should exercise the amount of force that is necessary to stop such lynch mobs.
Now let’s have a look what is allegdely crimes of Gaddafi against his own people. Here is a typical video taping of these alleged crimes:
We hear hat is alleged to be gutshots on young people protesting in the streets. Nobody knows if the gunshot soundtrack of the video is real or if it is fake. We see that the camera man is making hectic moves with his camera. It may be deliberately done to give the video more action. We see no one hurt.See the videos of mobs lynching black people above. Even if the shots are real they might be just warning shots. Knowing what horrific crimes lynch mobs of young people just committed publicly in the streets, firing warning shots could hardly be labeled as a disproportionate response to disperse a crowd of a racist lynch mob.
Translation of Gaddafi speech today by Karim B.and Marija.M.:
The leader spoke today. He said that this is a historical day, and he is challenging Sarkozy, Cameron and Obama to switch on their TVs and watch the crowds, in order to find out that they are delusional, because they entered a war which they will never win, he also says
" If you continue targeting our houses, we can do the same, coz Europe is not far away. but lets not do this, just watch the crowds , kids and women. They are not here because I ordered them to, it is their free will. In this war you are not facing me,you are facing these crowds. I am nothing. If You want peace with Libyans, it is up to the crowds. If You want anything , negotiate with the crowds. The regime is not Gaddafi's regime, it is a Libyan regime.
It doesn't matter that many who got scared- defected and escaped, the Libyans will remain, and each coward will be replaced with a hero. Is it a democracy to bomb the civilans??We don't want a democracy which comes with bombs!
The Socialist Jamahyria will win, the real democracy which serves the people will win. I advise you to stop bombing, and stop acting as mercenaries for the rebels. The Libyans said what they want, they marched, their tribes made it clear that the future is for Libyans, the oil is for Libya, Libya is Ours.
You are delusional, a group of traitors convinced you that Libya is easy to get. Even though you hired mercenaries , propaganda, psy-op etc, nothing helped you to make any progress on the ground.
Turn on your TVs and watch the longest Libyan flag ,4.5 km long, I didn't make this flag, people donated to make this flag. Those rebels are no different from the ones who betrayed Libyan people during the Italian invasion.
Libyan people march in millions, without weapons, to liberate the regions under the rebels control.
You,Libyan people, are the only ones who can finish this war with a victory.
If they want to negotiate- we welcome that, otherwise- we are continuing and they are definitely going to lose, no matter how many weapons they drop with parachute to the rebels. We will not betray our history, nor our children and their future. The glory is for You brave Libyans, the struggle will continue."

Libya and Libyans [01. July 2011]
comment : "Differently large demonstrations in Libya and different reporting over it - 1 July 2011"
In the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi have today little more thousands gathered followers supported by the NATO Libyan contras for Friday prayers, such as a photo of Asso-CIA-ted Press shows. The Friday prayers are the greatest public demonstrations of government opponents. At the beginning of the uprising, supported by NATO, while tens of thousands of people came together, which could be stimulated by roaring clergyman to the holy war against the Libyan government.
In the Libyan capital of Tripoli today, however, found a sympathy rally held for the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
Libya and Libyans [01. July 2011]
Asso-CIA-ted Press reporting that Muammar Gaddafi has since said in an audio message before thousands of supporters, if NATO did not stop to attackLibya, Libya could also decide to carry out retaliatory attacks on Euopa. Except for the size of the rally, that there were thousands of people, it had been a bit blurry reported by AP from the fact that it was "one of the largest pro-government demonstrations" in the last few weeks have been. A photo of this rally today in support of Muammar Gaddafi in Tripoli Asso-CIA-ted Press and other Western intelligence agencies have not been published, although there are dozens of correspondents to report in Tripoli.
Libya and Libyans [01. July 2011]
There are certainly seeing a few hundred thousand people at today's rally in support of Muammar Gaddafi. Would the people in NATO countries to see these images, they could despite all the war propaganda understand that war by NATO, with a few as henchmen led, is not to the liberation of the people in Libya, but against the Libyan people and their legitimate government is.
It is therefore not surprising that the Western agencies spread no pictures of the rally in support of Muammar Gaddafi in Tripoli, and both the Contras and NATO had been firmly rejected all the offers of the Libyan Government to resolve the conflict through fair and free elections rather than war to solve.
Open the Libyan channel & see the millions of the Libyans protect me & protect Libya, but before open it take some medicine because you will shock, ALL those people like me & if I am dictator why all those people is here to protect me,,,, for me you need to speak with all Libyans to stop this war, you just lie lie lie
Look to this people!
Yesterday I here that some women sell there gold to buy a green cloth to make a green flag with 5 km long. You strike the people by bombing them but you will not make any solution you are just ploughing the sea, from Jamahiriye Free WE WILL FIGHT TO THE END!
How was Libya doing under the rule of Gadaffi? How bad did the people have it? Were they oppressed as we now commonly accept as fact? Let us look at the facts for a moment.
How does Libya get so rich? The answer is oil. The country has a lot of oil, and does not allow foreign corporations to steal the resources while the population starves, unlike countries like Nigeria, a country that is basically run by Shell.
Like any country, Libya suffers from a government with corrupt bureaucrats that try to gain a bigger portion of the pie at the cost of everyone else. In response to this, Kadaffi called for the oil revenue to be distributed directly to the people, because in his opinion, the government was failing the people. However, unlike the article claims, Kadaffi is not the president of Libya. In fact he holds no official position in the government. This is the big mistake that people make. They claim that Kadaffi rules over Libya when in fact he doesn't, his position is more or less ceremonial. He should be compared to a founding father.
The true leader of Libya is an indirectly elected prime-minister. The current prime-minister is Baghdadi Mahmudi. Calling Khadaffi the leader of Libya is comparable to calling Akihito the leader of Japan. Contrary to what your media is sketching, opinions in Libya vary. Some people support Gadaffi but want Mahmudi out. Others want both out. Many just want to live their life in peace. However, effort is taken to sketch the appearance of a popular revolt against the supposed leader of Libya, Gadaffi, when in fact he is just the architect of Libya's current political system, a mixture of pan-Arabism, socialism, and Islamic government.
Videos of Pro-Gaddafi protests are disappearing from Youtube as we speak. "Pro Gaddafi Anti Baghdadi Mahmudi demonstrations in" youtube.com/watch?v=Ce5fLGNg0sk is gone. "Pro Gaddafi protests in front of Libyan embassy London" youtube.com/watch?v=pRwv0Ac8qbc Is gone. Youtube deletes any video containing gore normally, except when it's from Libya. Apparently more traumatizing to it's viewers than chopped up bodies are Libyans who do not jump on the bandwagon and enter the streets to force Gadaffi out.
Are the protesters in Libya comparable to the protesters in Egypt and Tunisia? Not at all. The governments reaction is more violent, and obviously excessive violence is being used. However let us look for a moment at the actions of the protesters. The building of the the general people's congress, the parliament of Libya, was put on fire by angry protestors. This is comparable to protesters putting the United States Capitol on fire. Do you think that for even a moment the US government would sit idly by as protesters put the US capitol on fire?
The United States and Israel however have no interest in a strong Arab world. In fact it seems that elementary to the plan is bringing Libya to its knees through chaos and anarchy. In late 2010, the United Kingdom was still propping up the Libyan government through lucrative arms sales. Nothing is a better guarantee to destroy Libya than a bloody civil war. The tribal system that is still strong in Libya is useful to exploit to generate such a war since Libya has historically been divided into various tribal groups.
This is also why the Libyan government responds by importing mercenaries. Tribal allegiances go before allegiance to the government, especially in Benghazi, and thus the central government has no control over the eastern part of the country anymore. The alternative to mercenaries is a conflict between the various ethnic groups. Gadaffi has tried for 41 years to make the country more homogeneous, but opposition groups funded by outside forced will take little more than a few days to put the country back into the 19th century, before the region was conquered and unified by Europeans. The violence is indeed excessive, but everyone seems to forget that the situation is not the same as in Tunis and Egypt. Tribal ties play a far greater role, and thus the conflict will unfortunately be bloodier.
Please remember at all times that the violent Libyan civil war unfolding now is not comparable to the revolutions seen in Tunisia and Egypt. Both of these revolutions involved peaceful protesters suffering from poverty, in opposition to their corrupt governments. The chaos in Libyan consists of a mixture of tribal conflicts, conflict over oil revenue (since most oil is in the east of the country), radical islamists opposed to Gadaffi's system of government, and outside destabilization by Western funded exile groups.
Gadaffi took control in a bloodless coup from a sick monarch away for medical treatment 41 years ago. His ideology is based on unification and he attempted to peacefully merge his country with Egypt and Syria. It would take a miracle for the violence unfolding now to lead to a single stable democratic government in Libya, with full control over the entire country. The country is more than twice the size of Pakistan, but with 6 million inhabitants. Endless deserts divide many of the cities in the nation. If anything we should ask ourselves how many more nations will be shattered into pieces in the coming months, as the world cheers.
