The case of Nisreen Mansour: before and after

I have recently stumbled upon another dirt throwing, manipulating piece of NATO rebels propaganda spinning the public opinion (once again) of Muammar al Gaddafi.
This particular article from The daily Mail describes Nisreen Mansour al Forgani as a 19 year old "girl executioner and serial killer for Col. Muammar Gaddafi" . "A teenager who admits to shooting 11 rebel prisoners" "after being sexually assaulted by Gaddafi's commanders". But if you look at this photo, it can easily explain her sudden need to do so...

O, and let's not forget the shocking story of her escape from the "millitary buiding in Bosleem district of Tripoli" where she was allegedly forced to cary out close range killings of the rebel prisoners. Let's see how the writer of this article describes this incredible story that can only be compared to a Hollywood action movie starring a certain actress with propensity to pose as UN role model ( yes, you know who that is, don't you...) It says:" Nisreen eventually escaped by jumping from the window of the second-floor room where she carried out the killings. Despite being injured in the fall and then hit by a reversing pick-up truck, she managed to limp out of the compound."
What a girl! I guess they really know how to train those female soldiers (sorry-girl executioners that is) in Libya.
I really don't have it in me to relate the rest of the claims and allegations raised by this article and the rebels themselves, if you want, you can read the rest of it here.

Now, for those of us who follow the situation in Libya day and night, last six months, Nisreen is not a novel face, we have met here before through another mainstream report from Tripoli. Let's see how she is described in the Huffington Post's article dated June 8th, 2011

"TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) — The young woman police officer swaggers through a crumbling Tripoli slum, her dark hair cut boyishly short, an empty gun holster and walkie-talkie hanging from her police belt. A tattooed man with a cigarette dangling from his lips shrinks away.
He doesn't want to mess with 25-year-old Nisrine Mansour.
A member of the regime's vice squad, her hero is Libyan ruler Moammar Gaddafi. His image is on her cell phone, his face emerging from rays of green – the iconic regime color. Her ring tone is a tinny pro-Gadhafi chant."
Just you wait a minute...25 years old??

But lets continue: "Moammar Gaddafi is the one who opened the opportunities for us to advance. That's why we cling to him, that's why we love him," says Mansour. "He gave us complete freedom as a woman to enter the police force, work as engineers, pilots, judges, lawyers. Anything.
"For policewoman Mansour, there is nothing a woman like herself can't aspire to in Gaddafi's Libya.
"I've never felt that I was treated differently because I'm a woman. Even when I'm picking up drunkards off the street, nobody ever said: 'She can't do that, she's a woman,'" said Mansour, who is charged with cracking down on drug addicts, drunkards and beggars in the slums of Tripoli.
A woman hugged her as she patrolled the garbage-strewn alleyways of the Hara Kabira slum in Tripoli's walled old city – once the pretty, brightly painted Jewish quarter, now a crumbling mess of homes filled with impoverished Libyans and African migrant workers. A little girl running by slapped Mansour's hand in greeting.

So... it appears her duties differ a great deal from those described in the latest article saying she is a military sniper, executioner and stationed near Bab al Azizia...here we see her as a police woman in vice squad, patroling the poor neighbourhood of Hara Kabira and picking up drunkards, beggars and drug addicts from the streets...

Since neither The Daily Mail nor the Huffington Post would be my first choice of news sources, and most of the articles are just following the line made by AP and Reuters, one can hardly rely on them to provide us with facts, but in this case we must ask ourselves:

Who is Nisreen Mansour?
Is she a 19 year old death squad trainee and executioner guarding the Bab al Azizia, or a 25 year old vice squad police woman patrolling the streets of Tripoli and guarding the check points?
Was she raped and by whom?
How credible are the statements made under a threat of a gun in a rebel terrorised Tripoli, where one must be careful what he says, if he/she wants his/hers family safe?
What kind of a doctor comes threating and yelling at a patient in a hospital?
Why does her doctor reveal her medical report and diagnoses to the press?
But most importantly- what is going to happen to her?

For most of those questions, I find that photos are speaking louder than words. You can see for yourself. Here is Nisreen Mansour probably during a women's forum in Tripoli on June 26th, before the NATO boots & the rebels entered the city:

You can see the smile reaching even her eyes on this photo, one can hardly fake that, unless she's a professional actor. No fear, no resignation. I will leave this photo speak to you on it's own a little bit, it has a lot to say..
Now, let's take a look at the photo of Nisreen Mansour after the NATO boots & the rebels entered the Tripoli, taken after her arrest and who knows what else:
 Telling eyes...

Even if half of what she said in front of the rebel guns and western media is true ( which some of you who follow only mainstream media reports from Libya, might believe)

Gaddafi has officially stepped down from "power" back in 1977  and since then he has no office or post with the government.
His influence is based on his symbolic role as a Leader of the Al Fateh revolution, as a benefactor of Libya and a man who lead millions of Libyans to a better life after the bloodless coup that marked the end of monarchy and domination of foreign interests over the well being of Libyans.
His influence is also based on his good relations with most of the Libyan tribes, I think there is no one else in Libya who can mediate among so many different tribes in Libya and have them support him.
I will not say there was no corruption in Libya, that everything was "milk & honey", on contrary- even Gaddafi himself strongly criticized the corruption in the government, the failure of Great People's Congress to address the needs of the labouring people and distribute the oil money to all the Libyans.
He even, at some point called for a complete dismissal of the GPC and different committees and a total privatization of the health and education that would constitute the Libyans themselves responsible for their success or failure, by making them their owners in a way. That, he proposed would be made possible by distributing the oil money to every Libyan, as much as 5.000 Libyan dinars/per family

Nationalizing the oil, distributing the wealth directly to the people, privatization of health and education systems ( by the people themselves).

"On February 16, 2009, Gaddafi took a step further and called on Libyans to back his proposal to dismantle the government and to distribute the oil wealth directly to the 5 million inhabitants of the country."
"The Administration has failed and the state's economy has failed. Enough is enough. The solution is for the Libyan people to directly receive oil revenues and decide what to do with them,"  Gaddafi said in a speech broadcast on state television. To this end, the Libyan leader urged a radical reform of government bureaucracy.

Despite this, senior Libyan government officials voted to delay Gaddafi's plans. Only 64 ministers from a total of 468 Popular Committee members voted for the measure. There were 251 who saw the measures as positive, but chose to delay their implementation.
Given the rejection of the Committee, Gaddafi affirmed before a public meeting: "My dream during all these years was to give the power and wealth directly to the people."

Even back in 1995 Gaddafi was playing with this idea, in his essay "ONCE AGAIN, AN URGENT CALL TO FORM A PARTY" which can be found in the book "Escape to Hell and Other Stories" which I highly recommend to all of those who want to understand Muammar Gaddafi. His thought process hasn't finished with completing The Green Book, other writings such as this come to criticize, not the principles of direct democracy found in The Green Book, but the failure to implement it, and those who were interpreting it as it served their purpose. He also tried to offer a solution back then, to the people, the masses to once again obtain what is rightfully theirs and implement the direct democracy as it should be implemented, to serve all people.

Here is the excerpt:
"Today, it's a party and not the people who rules. There are no popular conferences! Therefore, we must crash this tool, which does not represent the people, so that the people can rule. But what is the people?"
....then he elaborates on that term, concluding:
"We have now laid up the definition of 'the people' and it is a truly bourgeois definition, and quite unsatisfying. It is a mixture of contradictions and speculations. No doubt, in this definition, 'the people' includes sections of the population that are hostile to one another, combative elements, groups that are against each other socially. Thus, within a people, there are forces and elements of exploitation, theft and monopoly, as well as partisanship, tribalism, reaction, and corruption."

"Following the definition of 'the people', we return to our call for the forming of a party, but how? Those who rule now, under the umbrella of popular democracy, are not the masses, building a state of masses, but an alliance - not of the people's labouring forces - but an alliance that is against them. It is a despicable alliance, whose own elements do not know one another, but they know each others methods. They do not meet together and take an oath of allegiance" their alliance is a tacit one......There is no option but to form a new party - not a party to rule the people, but to draw out the masses from within the people. Not a partial party that rules the entirety, but an entirety that produces a part- the body triumphing over the cancer.
It is a daring operation, a qualitative leap, a new revolutionary lead to create the state of the masses. Only the masses have an interest in revolution, which the parasites take their share of, and Dracula drinks its blood...

To all of those raised on the Western propaganda of Gaddafi, it would be most valuable to read these short stories, there is so much more to Gaddafi the man, and Gaddafi the Leader than meets the eye of an average person, whether he or she was born and raised in Libya or not. That's because we all cling to stereotypes and place people to their special compartments, without ever really drawing them out to re-evaluate their position in society and towards us, but most of all, cause it's always easier to have a scapegoat to blame for all the times we as individuals and we as society, have failed to take responsibility for our lives.
