Each radical part of religion creates fascism in people.

Each radical part of religion creates Adolph Hitlers because of this idea that "My way is the only right way."                                                             And when you are a fascist and when you are a fanatic you are murderous. You may not murder, but deep down you are murderous.

You may not murder anybody, but one thing is certain: you will murder your qualities of love and compassion and brotherhood.

“I am deeply concerned about these brutal attacks on places of cultural and religious significance. Such acts must be halted, if Libyan society is to complete its transition to democracy. For this, we need dialogue and mutual respect. Libya’s future prospects depend on its inhabitants’ ability to build a participatory democracy that respects the rights and the heritage of all its citizens.”

= #BreakingNews GNC  Libya Interior Minister Fawzi Abdelali resignsfollowing criticism of security forces over recent violence/shrine attacks.

GNC’s Interior Minister quits in security criticism protest
GNC’s Interior Minister, Fawzi Abdel A'al, resigned Sunday after attacks on twoSufi Muslim sacred sites in the past few days, reports Reuters. The country’s National Congress slammed the minister for failing to provide general security in pro-NATO Libya.
They also accused him of failing to prevent a double bombing which killed two people in Tripoli a week ago.
To protest the “unacceptable words”, Abdel A'al tendered his resignation, which is yet to be approved by the pro-NATO Prime Minister. Saturday’s bulldozing of a Sufi mosque in Tripoli and Fridays attack on Sufi shrines in Zlitan have been blamed on Islamists, who find Salafi practices idolatrous. According to some reports, the bulldozing of the Tripoli mosque took place with the backing of the Interior Ministry.

PROTEST IN TRIPOLI  - Demolition work at the Al-Sha’ab shrine in central Tripoli has stopped, as a group of protestors occupies the site. The group, started their demonstration in fairly low-key fashion at Algeria Square at midday, standing in the middle of the roundabout  with placards.

Work restarted at the shrine this morning, but the machinery is now sitting at the roadside as the group stand amongst the rubble. The road remains closed for the entire stretch in front of the hotel, but many of the security personnel previously present have left, those who remain seem uninterested by the protest and are making no attempt to clear the area. The atmosphere among the crowd of spectators on the pavement opposite is tense, it is clear that some of those present are in favour of the demolition.

A scuffle later broke out between the protestors and armed men as they made efforts to restart demolition, shouts of “God is great”[??] came from the crowd when the digger operator abandoned his attempts to continue his work.
Democracy Arrives in Libya: Sufi religious sites attacked and destroyed by Salafis
Indeed, this version of fundamentalist Islam is not typical of Libyan Islam. Moderate Libyan and North African Islam has receded in the face of Wahhabi Islam coming from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries.

Under Gaddafi, Libya  succeeded mostly in containing the Salafi push. But in areas remote from the center (Benghazi), the Salafis, together with al-Qaeda elements that apply a strict Wahhabi Islam, succeeded not only to survive the persecutions of the Gaddafi regime, but also succeeded in proselytizing their school of thought among the Libyans Wahhabi who were the backbone of the fighters in Afghanistan.

Rats channel news
Libyan pro -NATO security officials were forced late on Thursday to admit that many official security units are penetrated by supporters of the former regime.

In an astonishing admission at a press conference called late on Thursday, pro-NATO Abdelmenom Al-Hur the official spokesperson for the Supreme Security Committee (SSC) admitted that a whole barracks full of heavy armaments was under the control of pro Qaddafi cell.

Al-Hur revealed that the brigade that was based at the Sug il Ahad barracks was the Awfia Brigade but that it was known internally by its pro-Qaddafi cell as the ‘the Martyr Qaddafi’ brigade.

You will recall this is the same Awfia brigade that had occupied Tripoli International Airport back in June.

Al-Hur went on to list the heavy arms that were at the barracks and under the control of this pro Qaddafi cell including, Hawn rockets, 25 rocket launchers and astoundingly over 100 tanks. Members of the press present were so taken aback by this figure that they asked Al-Hur to confirm it. Al-Hur confirmed the number of tanks as being over 100.

When asked by the media about the whereabouts of the SSC whilst the Sug il Ahad barracks was being infiltrated, Al-Hur admitted that there were many ‘climbers’ who had joined the 17th February Revolution on false pretenses.
= [GNC FAIRY TALES] The Central Bank of Libya is holding today, Sunday, aIslamic banking workshop to look into ways of financing small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) within the Libyan market and to coordinate efforts in order to provide job opportunities for Libyans from all backgrounds.
The new trend in Libyan Islam is also weighing on the economy. The deputy governor of the central bank of Libya stated that a law regulating Islamic banking would be issued in the first quarter of 2012, but stressed that both conventional and Islamic banks would be allowed to operate in Libya. Islamists in Algeria Square in Tripoli held up placards demanding a financial system respecting Islam’s ban on interest and calling for a constitution derived from Shari’a’s legal and moral codes.

SAIF AL ISLAM  - National Congress Speaker Mohammed Magarief has dismissed claims that Saif Qaddafi will be tried next month in Zintan as “rumours and lies”.
ZLITAN Salafists again were blamed
One of Libya’s most important Sufi shrines, that of the Sidi Abdul-Salam Al-Asmar Al-Fituri in Zliten, has been massively damaged in fighting in the town, some 90 kilometres east of Tripoli. The violence started earlier in the week and according to ProNATO GNC officials has left at least three people dead and eight more injured.  The conflict is between Zlitenis and, reportedly, members of the Awlad Al-Shaikh tribe who live in the area.

The attack on the shrine — the most important building in Zliten and part of the town’s Asmariya Islamic University complex — may be entirely separate to the skirmishes. The building appears to have been systematically targeted. It was subject to continued mortar fire and took three direct hits last night.

A senior Sufi figure, who asked not to be named, told the Libya Herald that the destruction of the tomb had been deliberate and was not part of the local clashes. He appeared to blame Salafists. “The fighting was used by those who have been wanting to do this for some time”.
In early March, several hundred Salafists arrived in Zliten from all over the country planning to destroy the tomb.
In October last year, the mosque at Sidi Masri was vandalized and the remains of two Muslim scholars, Abdul-Rahman Al-Masri and Salem Abu Seif, removed. The same month, the cemetery in Gargaresh was ransacked while, in November, Tripoli’s Sidi Nasr mosque was similarly desecrated.
At the beginning of last month, a bomb exploded at the Sahaba Mosque in Derna. [ Lybia Herald]
“The fighting was used by those who have been wanting to do this for some time”.

ProNATO GNC  government officials claim that over 100 tanks and heavy weapons were seized from a militia group, the Katibat al-Awfiya, said to be loyal to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.

= Libya: war of all against all?
Clashes between tribes sometimes happened under Gaddafi as well. But after he was ousted, they became much more frequent. As a rule, the conflicting sides are very well armed, because during the revolution, many foreign countries, helping Gaddafi’s opponents, flooded Libya with arms.
Clashes like this take place nearly every day all over Libya.

Asylum seekers in Libya: one man's story of prison conditions [Guardian]
"At the beginning, they were giving us only one piece of bread a day," he said. "It was very, very hard. There was not even any proper drinking water. It was very, very salty."

He said they received a visit from a representative of the United Nations refugee agency, UNHCR. "One person came. They [sic] gave us food and soap. And then they went away," he said.

Conditions in the camp, where about 350 people were being held, were dangerous, Kibrom said. He and fellow-detainees lived in fear of the irregulars who last year ousted Colonel Muammar Gaddafi and his regime. "They can do whatever they like," he said. "They are armed and there is no leader."
