Update 31.07.2012.

Saif Al Islam - The NATO's ICC and the NATO's  Libyan government are locked in a dispute over where Saif should be tried.

SITUATION IN LIBYA IN THE CASE OF THE PROSECUTOR v. SAIF AL-ISLAl^ GADDAFI and ABDULLAH ALSENUSSI
Original ICC document  link

"The only way for Libya and the Libyan people to have justice is for the ICC to try this case in a fair, impartial and independent manner," he was quoted as saying in a defence document submitted to the court on Tuesday.

"I would have liked to have been tried in Libya by Libyan judges under Libyan law in front of the Libyan people," Saif was quoted as saying in the document, issued after ICC lawyers visited him last month.
"There will also be no truth if witnesses are faced with possible life sentences for simply testifying in my favour," he said. "I am not afraid to die but if you execute me after such a trial you should just call it murder."

His lawyer Melinda Taylor said after her release she believed it would be "impossible" for Saif to be tried in an independent and impartial manner in Libyan " courts".
His lawyer Melinda Taylor and four ICC staff members were freed earlier this month after being held in Libya four almost four weeks while visiting Saif on behalf of the court.

Unsigned statement/sentiments from Mr, SaifAl Islam Gaddafi 7 June 2012, Zintan
1. I want to face justice.

2. I want to do so because I believe that Libya, the victims in Libya, the intemationally
community and myself- all have a right to the truth, and for the truth to be made
public,

3. / would have liked to have been tried in Libya by Libyan judges under Libyan law in
front ofthe Libyan people. But what has been happening in my case cannot be called a trial

4. The truth is only possible in a fair and impartial trial,

5. There will be no truth if I am kept locked up and silenced in a remote mountain village, with no or very limited possibility to speak to my lawyers in order to convey my defence,

6. There will also be no truth if witnesses are faced with possible life sentences for simply testifying in my favour, there is no security or protection for them, nor any consequences if these witnesses are threatened and killed,

7.  There will certainly be no justice in the case, if the prosecution is based on evidence extracted from torture and other inadmissible evidence, or persons who are too scared to say the truth,

8. I am not afraid to die but if you execute me after such a trial you should just call it murder and be done with it.

9.  would also prefer to live to see Libya become a democracy based on human rights and respect for the rule of law, but you cannot expect democracy to flourish if all the Libyan people see are show trials run by political expediency,

10. Over a year ago, representatives of the NTC asked the international community to intervene so that the Libyan people could have justice, I am asking for exactly the same thing - the only way for Libya and the Libyan people to have justice is for the ICC to try this case in a fair, impartial and independent manner, and, in so doing, set standards, which Libya can follow on its future path to democracy and the rule of law,

11. These were the sentiments, which Mr. Gaddafi wished to convey to the Honourable Pre-Trial Chamber, based on the views he had provided to the OPCD on 3 March 2012, and reconfirmed on 7 June 2012. When Mr. Gaddafi attempted to sign this statement after reading it, the guard, who had informed the ICC delegation through the interpreter that he was illiterate, did not understand English and that his sole purpose of being present was to ensure issues of physical security, confiscated the statement and brought it to Dr. Gehani to read.

NATO's Libya blitzkrieg and the coming colonial wars

If you want a vision of Africa under AFRICOM tutelage, look no further than Libya, NATO’s model of an African state: condemned to decades of violence and trauma through military colonialism.

The scale of the ongoing tragedy visited on Libya by NATO and its allies is becoming horribly clearer with each passing day. Estimates of those killed so far vary, but 50,000 seems like a low estimate; indeed the British Ministry of Defence was boasting that the onslaught had killed 35,000 as early as last May. But this number is constantly growing.

US-backed Occupied Libya: Putting Lipstick on a Frog

Farirai Chubvu

Elections to choose a new General National Congress in Libya are an attempt to provide a “democratic” facade for an authoritarian and undemocratic government, subservient to the interests of the major Western powers, corporations and banks.

The Nato-installed National Transitional Council ensured that candidacy was restricted to a relatively small layer approved by the Electoral Commission.

Syria: Libya 2.0 - Media Hysteria Over Syria "Bombing" City of Aleppo

If tired WMD lies won't convince the public to back foreign intervention, perhaps recycled lies from Libya? by Tony Cartalucci July 24, ...

Fishing for a Pretext

Between lies revolving around distorted statements regarding chemical weapons, fabricated atrocities, and now claims of airstrikes being used upon "civilian populations," the West is desperately running down the list for a "casus belli" that will stick. The Syrian government, after a year and a half of being undermined by foreign interests and hordes of foreign militants, has maintained both the faith and trust the majority of its population has put into it. If it is deploying airstrikes, it can be assured they are doing so with keeping that faith and trust intact - and as the West often claims in the midst of its military adventures, doing so to minimize as much as possible collateral damage.

Recent attacks by the FSA have aimed at undermining that faith and truth, and militants in the northern city of Aleppo have purposefully moved to the commercial center of the city to draw in the heavy weapons necessary to neutralize them. While the Western press portrays this move toward the center of Aleppo as "progress," it should be noted that the Syrian military operates out of bases on the city's outskirts.

This means the further militants push toward the center of the city, the further from engaging the military directly they become. While the FSA claims they are "liberating" Aleppo, even the Western media concedes it is a bastion of government support. This indicates that terrorism, intimidation, and panic, not "liberation" are the FSA's goals in Aleppo, and that the government is justified to take any measures necessary to stop them.

Conversely, NATO and its allies see Syria's vigorous defense capabilities as an obstacle to Western-planned regime change - therefore if neutralizing them through covert  means is not possible, they will attempt to neutralize them by declaring them a threat to "civilians," invoking "Responsibility to Protect," and initiating foreign military intervention.

Syria:Thierry Meyssan speaks about the Battle of Damascus, Syria [19.07. 2012]

The battle of Damascus has begun

by Thierry Meyssan
Western and Gulf powers have launched the largest secret war operation since the Contra war in Nicaragua. The Battle of Damascus is not intended to topple President Bashar al-Assad, but to fracture the Syrian Army to better ensure the domination of Israel and the U.S. over the Middle East. While the city is bracing for a new assault by foreign mercenaries, Thierry Meyssan takes stock of the situation.

Over the past five days Washington and Paris have launched an attack operation dubbed “Damascus Volcano and Syrian Earthquake."
It is not a new campaign of aerial bombardment, but a secret military operation, similar to the one used in Central America during the Reagan era.

Within a few days, 40 to 60 000 Contras, mostly Libyans, entered the country, most often via the Jordanian border. The majority of them are attached to the "Syrian" Free Army, a secret operations front for NATO under Turkish command.
Some are affiliated with groups of fanatics, including Al-Qaeda, under Qatar’s command or factions of the Saudi Royal Family, the Sudairi. Along the way, they took some border posts, and then moved to the capital where they have sown confusion by attacking random targets: police groups or isolated military.

NATO PsyOp Against Syria Imminent
On Friday, July 20, 2012, around 19:00, signals began to be sent to imbed new channels onto Arabsat and Nilesat. The signals mimic those of Syrian television, duplicating both the graphics and logos. For now, the programs present patriotic clips.

According to experts, the signals are being sent from Australia, probably from a U.S. National Security Agency base.

The genuine Syrian television signals were interrupted yesterday by Arabsat and Nilesat. Their websites were hacked and are inaccessible.

Libya: The Aftermath of War

United Nations, July 2012 - Libya is contaminated with hundreds of thousands of explosive remnants of war that threaten the safety of civilians and aid workers. If these bombs are not properly managed, they could end up in the wrong hands, jeopardizing Libya's recovery and international security. The United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) is currently on the ground to help clear this threat.

Did you read the UN report about unexploded bombs & danger that Libya has no money to take care of?
Don't worry World. USA backed government will pay with blood and oil of Libyans.
Thanks to NATO and NTC puppets, today Libya is dangerous place ... very very dangerous place.
War is great business: first - you are selling weapon, after you are cleaning the same weapons ... and all of that with money of native people.

Playing God in Iraq, Libya, Syria: the evils of interventionist wars

It is a warning that none of these humanitarian wars is a solution to a problem; they are only a prelude to yet more war. And it is a reminder that we have no right to play God.
It is a reminder that we have no right to play God.

IN a traditional cowboy movie, we know what to do: we look for the guy wearing the white hat to be sure who to cheer, and for the one wearing the black hat to know who deserves to die, preferably gruesomely, before the credits roll.
If Hollywood learnt early to play on these most tribal of emotions, do we doubt that Washington’s political script-writers are any less sophisticated?
Since 9/11, the United States and its allies in Europe have persuaded us that they are waging a series of “white hat” wars against “black hat” regimes in the Middle East. Each has been sold to us misleadingly as a “humanitarian intervention”. The cycle of such wars is still far from complete.

Tomorrow is the first day of the Holy month of Ramadan

Ramadan Kareem,
with hoping that it's blessed days would bring about safety and security to all.
...with hoping that it's blessed days would bring
about safety and security to all
Let the rain come and wash away
the ancient grudges, the bitter hatreds
held and nurtured over generations.

Let the rain wash away the memory
of the hurt, the neglect.

Then let the sun come out and
fill the sky with rainbows.

Let the warmth of the sun heal us
wherever we are broken.

Let it burn away the fog so that
we can see each other clearly.

So that we can see beyond labels,
beyond accents, gender or skin color.

Let the warmth and brightness
of the sun melt our selfishness.

So that we can share the joys and
feel the sorrows of our neighbors.

And let the light of the sun
be so strong that we will see all
people as our neighbors.

Let the earth, nourished by rain,
bring forth flowers
to surround us with beauty.

And let the mountains teach our hearts
to reach upward to heaven.

Mahmoud Jibril: Washington's Man in Tripoli

by Stephen Lendman  on War is A Crime

Mahmoud Jibril takes over as Libya's new leader. He heads its puppet government.
Sham elections installed him. The process was farcical. Illusion substituted for reality. Obama called his ascension "another milestone in the country's transition to democracy."

EU leaders hailed "Libya's first free elections." They called them the "dawn of a new era." Scoundrel media acclaimed the end of the Gaddafi nightmare.
A democratic facade masks New World Order neoliberal fundamentalism. Its holy trinity is eliminating public services, predatory capitalism writ large, and repression enforcing the message to non-believers.
Libya gives Washington another beachhead for greater African adventurism. Unspeakable crimes of war and against humanity were committed establishing it.

Jibril's now its main man. He got his marching orders. He's expected to deliver. Otherwise another pro-Western hack will replace him.

Freedom is nowhere in sight. It's true everywhere Washington runs things. Inside the bubble, it's paradise. Outside it's dystopian hell. It features exploitation and denial of fundamental rights.

Welcome to "New" Libya and Meet Mahmoud Jibril

Pro-U.S. Candidate Slated to Win Sham Elections in Libya
Hitlary Clinton and Mahmoud Jibril
Corporate media outlets based in the United States and Europe have already proclaimed the western-backed party of Mahmoud Elwarfally Jibril, the National Forces Alliance, as the winner of the first post-Jamahiriya elections. Jibril, who was educated in the U.S. at the University of Pittsburgh, will undoubtedly uphold the current policies of the National Transitional Council (NTC) which was installed by the Pentagon and NATO during August-October 2011.
